Google Maps Integration

August 19, 2010 by Miguel Cordeiro
As we promised, we have integrated google maps with InternetSuite, it"s very easy and it will take you 2 minutes to add your location map to the contact page of your site.

To add a google map you"ll have to take the following steps:

1. Sign Up for the Google Maps API

In order to publish a map from google you"ll need to get the Google Maps API key. You can get this key easily in one step through this link:

Be careful specifying your site URL, since your maps will only work when accessed from that domain only. Copy the key given from google and go to the next.

2. Create a CONTACT type page on your site

Edit the content of a CONTACT type page in the Site > Pages menu. On the bottom of the page you"ll find the Google Map section. Just fill in the info, namely the Latitud, the Longitud and the GMAP key, which is the key you have been given at step 1.

Ok, it all goes well you can browse your site and see the map in the contact page of your site.

The new Sitemap Generator has been integrated as part of the new search engine optimization overhaul to InternetSuite. The Sitemap generator automatically scans every page of your site and creates a sitemap.xml file according to the sitemap protocol.

To create a sitemap for you site simply follow the menu: Site > Optimization > Sitemap, and then click the Create and Upload button.
